Remember to click LOGOUT (dropdown from your username at the top right corner) when you're done playing, especially if you're playing from an internet cafe or on someone else's computer. This is because your session may not end as soon as you leave the site. This applies to any website that makes you login to access their service.
It is a good habit to Clear Cookies after browsing from a public computer.
You can also use a browser's Private Browsing or Incognito mode to close a session on browser close
Sharing accounts is highly frowned upon and an easy way to have your pokemon stolen. If you share an account, don't be surprised if you cannot access it later.

Do not accept files from strangers on IMs (IE: MSN, Yahoo Messenger), or anywhere for that matter, and don't click on any untrusted links they give either. Such links may persuade you to download and install programs that can record your passwords and send it to them.
